Staircase installation
Customer asks:
Is stair installation a complicated job, or could I do it myself?
Stair24 answers:
This is a common question from our clients when they start ordering a staircase. A finished staircase often looks like a single unit – as if it just needs to be set in place. In reality, stair installation is more than just “assembly,” but it’s also not something mysterious.
Accurate preparation is the key to success
When a staircase is measured and manufactured correctly, much of the work is already done before installation day. Precise measurements, design, and factory preparation ensure that on the installation day, all that’s left is step-by-step assembly.
The result is a perfect fit, a smooth process, and no surprises or improvisation.
The importance of the installation process
Installing a staircase means the structure must be perfectly aligned. The steps need to be straight (level), and the staircase must not wobble or squeak over time. Everything depends on millimeters, not centimeters.
Technically, you could install a staircase yourself, especially if you have construction experience and the right tools. In practice, though, you quickly realize how important the installation order and experience are.
Many choose professional installation, not because the work is too difficult, but because the staircase must be stable, quiet, and comfortable to use daily for years. Even a small inaccuracy can affect long-term comfort and usability.
Watch the full process in a video
Instead of only discussing installation theoretically, it’s helpful to see it in action. A video shows step-by-step how a staircase is installed on-site.
After watching, it’s easier to decide whether installation is something you want to do yourself or leave to experienced professionals.
